WRAPPING TIME

Time to wrap the Musk Ox got some great steaks and roast. Doug canned some also and it was excellent. Could have used our friend Del for some butcheing tips,. come on up Del you can help with the next one........

CHANGE

Left Council at Noon it was snowing came home at 4:30 to this beautiful sunset........Can't beat it......

WATER

Got home took water bottle out of box in back of my machine for a drink, guess I'll wait for awhile.......

OH BOY

Oops Doug got a little off the trail going out of the river to cut about 5 miles off trail thru portage. One thing about these machines there light enough to pick up and turn........YEA BRAVOS

THE CITY

Coming into White Mountain, what a super Highway,
Parked boats for the winter, just have to turn them around when the ice goes out and take off....Doug outside PO talking with Davis Lincoln.

Doug hooking up the go devil to snowmachine after getting it turned around on trail. Was a good haul today got about 6 good sized dead trees up the 14 Trail.

EVERYONE BENEFITS

A weasel getting some tid bits from the Ox hide hanging on Mikes porch. Doug hung the head up in a tree so the critters will clean everything off the skull.

FRESH MEAT

About a 3 year old Musk Ox taken behind Council about 7 miles as the crow flies. These critters were introduced in the year 1970 from Nunivak Island they have multiplied over the years and each household is allowed one per year.

MONDAY MONDAY

Another beautiful sunny day with Temp of 6 above and overnight low of only -5.5. Camp Robbers here for breakfast..... Guys going Musk Ox Hunting so will have results later on today.

Tre and Chris came to Council then on to White Mountain for some riding time before the Big Race "IRONDOG" next month..............
Temp was a warm 28 degrees and clear blue sky........

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY

Sunrise this morning with cooler temp of 16 above, looks as if it is burning right thru the mountains. Yard full of sunlight and snow........

WHITEOUT

Could just see across the river today was really stormy and snowing.
We must of got about 6 more inches of the lovely white stuff, will definitely need snowshoes on my walk tomorrow. Really warm 33 above, snows just melting away they call it the January Thaw.......

BLUEBERRY HILL

Doug, Mike and I went for a ride up Blueberry Hill ,I didn't stay on the trail so machine just rolls ride on its side and you sink into 5 foot deep snow, (4 times) a really slow roll like into a feather bed. Really pretty on top , about 18 above and no wind. Mt. Wick in the background. Ele. 1476 in the last picture.

NEW YEAR NEW WATER PUMP

Half hour after starting Generator on 1/1/11 she quite with the water pump gone out...So fire up the old Lister as Doug prepares new pump for Lugger. Thanks God, for a smart man who can fix anything.......... Warm again today + 13 just about right with a little wind.....

HERE COMES THE SNOW

Warm ...... weather man predicts storm with 7-10 inches snow from noon today til 6am tomorrow...winds 40mph from E-NE OH Happy New Year !!!!
