BUSY WEEKEND

This was a fun weekend with Nome Grandkids here along with Great Grandbaby Kiyler West. Had lots of help with Kiyler as Erin and Kara wanted to help with the baby. Wish Olivia and Lucas-- Homer and Gayles children could come join us sometime.

TRIP TO NOME

Monday afternoon I went into Nome to work on the Primary Elections and on the way Santas Reindeer were taking an afternoon stroll down the road. Didn't see Rudolph in the group but did run into a herd of their cousins just going down Skookum. They do not like to move so I stopped and picked some blueberries, this year is a record berry year . Cranberries come next.......

CHOWDER AT MURPHYS

The sun was setting at 11:44 PM and it turned the flats across the river Gold. Really beautiful.

NEW LOG SPLITTER

I was never to good with an ax and logs so now this is my new job. So easy and fast to split now if I could get a machine to stack it all........

MURPHYS

This is Mike & Myra Murphy who plan to stay the winter here in Council also. Will be so nice to have someone to play cards or rummykub with.

Almost everyone has a dog here. And some folks bring theirs, this is "Butterball" a Bishon & King Charles mix who belongs to BJ and John.

Bob Bue brought his friend Chris up to show her around. Chris lives in Sitka where Bob works now.

Doug, Cody, John and Baby Doll went down River to the mouth (Fish & Niukluk) and had a real good day.

UP THE CREEK FOR DINNER

Monday night we drove our 4 wheelers 5 miles up Melsing creek for Lasagna. We cross the creek 17 times on the way, which is really stinky with dead humpies. Our hosts Steve and Becky Korenik winter in Texas and live here in the summer. Dinner was excellent.

MORE FAMILY

Here are Caley, Bunny & Jennifer Heiner. all ready for a boat ride down to White Mountain which Caley & Jennifer were ready to move to HaHa.. Caley is Bunnys son Tims girl and Jennifer is her son Larrys girl. There were here about a week. Jennifer cooked us up some not to bad vegetarian dishes. Didn't think I liked Hummis (sp)but the way she made it was good.

VISITORS

Another August Day a little rainey today 54 degrees some clear sky down river. I got to babysit for Tre and Raenelle this weekend . Little Kiyler is growing so fast and what a cutie. Their dog Copper was here too also a great Lab pup (poor thing is a male). Been invited up Melsing Creek for Lasanga(sp) tonight will post pictures tomorrow.

WHEN DOUG ARRIVED IN MAY

Doug and Carlie left Brookings, OR April 21 for Alaska stopping in Anacortes, WA to see his Sister Bunny and her husband Lonnie for a couple days then on thru Canada, arriving in Fairbanks on the 26th. After mailing about 1200 pounds of assorted supplies for our year stay and visiting family he drove on to Anchorage to catch the jet for Nome. In Nome he visited friends and made arrangements with Stan Morgan to fly to Council.

Papa made a swing set for Kara's Birthday along with Erin and Qwen, seats painted by cousins from Seattle WA., Ukiah, Aslin, Nory & Brad who along with Granma & Mom Sharon from Tacoma were visiting Council.
